This summer Coolpink will be doing their bit for charity and competing in a Dragon Boat Race on Saturday the 30th June and running the Leeds 10k on Sunday the 8th of July.
Leeds 10k – Coolrunning
For the fourth year running Coolpink and friends will be running the Jane Tomlinson Leeds 10K. The event this year is held on Sunday 8 July and we’re hoping for glorious sunshine (unlike the torrential downpour in 2011).
The team are as usual training hard for the race (varying translations of this, meaning some people aren’t bothering!!). This year there is some real competition for who will take gold in Team CP due to new recruit Alex Ellis having a 10K PB of 42 minutes… It’s going to be interesting folks!
We are again raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support, a very worthy charity. So please dig deep and donate. Even better, donate and come and support us on the day. Dragon Boat Racing – Coolsink
For the second year running Coolpink will be donning their sailor costumes and taking part in the Leeds Dragon Boat Race for the Leeds Community Foundation.
The Dragon boat race will start at Clarence dock from 9am on the 30th June. Come along and watch! Not only will the Coolpink team embarrassing themselves be enjoyable for anyone to watch, there’s also a host of entertainment plus refreshments and barbecue which is all part of the Leeds Waterfront Festival http://www.leedswaterfrontfestival.com/.
All money raised goes to The Leeds Community Foundation that helps improve the quality of life of people living in disadvantaged communities. They do this by making financial grants to support local organisations and charitable groups, of which there are over 3,000 in Leeds. These can vary from a few hundred pounds, to several thousand pounds. Please dig deep and give generously to this great cause on our Coolsink Just Giving page.
