The renowned Leeds 10K attracts around 10,000 runners every year and this year 13 of those runners will be from Coolpink. Coolpinkers of all shapes and ages are taking part in the Jane Tomlinson Leeds 10K.
Runners will take their marks at 9.30am on July 14th at Millennium Square, Leeds. We’re sticking with tradition, making this the 5th year running members of the Coolpink team will take part in the race.
The Run for All race was established by the late Jane Tomlinson CBE to stand as her legacy following her demise from Cancer in 2007. Before her death, Jane raised £1.85 million for various charities through a series of physical challenges including the Ride Across America. Jane knew her life was limited, but wanted to create a vehicle which would allow others across the community the opportunity to raise money for good causes close to their own hearts, and to share the excitement and fulfilment that she had experienced in participating in her own fundraising events.
We chose the Jane Tomlinson Appeal as our charity of choice due to Jane’s motivation and determination to not be beaten by her prognosis and her dedication to living every bit of her life to the max.
Team training has started and, as you can imagine, there have been lots of moans and groans, but as we all know it’s for a great cause, we’re putting 100% into it (and actually having quite a bit of fun along the way). All donations would be greatly appreciated. You can empty your change pockets out here.
We’d love to see some of your happy faces along the route cheering us on, so get your pom poms out and bob down on race day to show your support and maybe have a laugh at some of the team members at the same time. Seriously, 10k what were we thinking? That’s some serious Uncommon Sense!
